Special Days in CT

While Marty was in Chicago attending a college friends wedding Anna I headed to Connecticut for a busy weekend. Saturday we got to see Sydney and Harrison perform together in the Bunnell Marching Band marking Syd's final home show of high school. I am not sure where the time has gone. The next time I will be at Bunnell will be for her graduation in June. Sunday we started the wedding festivities with a shower for Auntie Anna. Although we did not trick-or-treat this year Anna enjoyed plenty of cookies. Being the flower girl has some perks because Auntie Anna let Anna dive right into the frosting!! Making the weekend even more fun we got to see Aunt Jen and Uncle Bryan for the first time since their wedding. Married life seems to be agreeing with them!!

Rob and Caitlin's Wedding

Marty was honored to serve as a groomsman for his friend Rob Saturday in Cape Cod. It was a windy and cold but fun weekend. Ed and Nancy joined us at the wedding while my Mom and Rowdy took Anna for the afternoon. Friday night Marty and I attended the rehearsal dinner while Anna enjoyed many treats with Grammy and Grampy. Congratulations Rob and Caitlin.

Berwick Fire Station and Pumpkin Festival

Anna is modeling her Yankees sweater as she waits for Jack and Luke, aka "JaLuke as she calls them these days.

The Pumpkin Festival offered lots for the kids. Anna enjoyed coloring a mask, making a bracelet with the letters of her name and decorating a cupcake.

Bounce House Fun

Visiting the Berwick Fire House was a big hit with the kids. They got to sit in the trucks and even got to try on some of the equipment. Anna wore a hat but it was put on backwards. Almost everyday we pass the fire station and Anna gets very excited to see if the trucks are outside. Most days she lets out a "roar" just like the sirens.

Just Being Cute

Touch-a-Truck

Sitting in the fire truck.

Today we took Anna to a Touch-A-Truck event at Pease Airport in Portsmouth. Anna loved sitting in the fire truck and bus. She got many goodies to take home but enjoyed the popcorn in the construction hat the best.

Rochester Fair 2010

Last week we took Anna to the Rochester Fair. You always see interesting people at the fair but this year it was the full moon so all the crazies were out. We stopped to see many farm animals and even took in a few minutes of the bull show. Those are HUGE animals. Anna got a big surprise when we took her on the rides. She loved the bounce house, slide and merry-go-round but her favorite was the train. She didn't hesitate going on all by herself. Anna squealed with delight when I took her on the kiddie roller coaster and cried when it stopped.

Surprise!!

Saturday we celebrated my grandmother's 80th birthday with a surprise party. All three of her children were joined by her ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many other family members as we greeted her with a loud "Happy Birthday" at Mike and Jill's home. The weather was wonderful, the food was great but most of all it was nice to see everyone. Lucky for us we won't have to wait long to get together again as we all look forward to Joey and Anna's wedding on New Year's Eve!

Difficulties

I am not sure what I did but I posted the last four entries out of order. The latest is apple picking that was from today Sept. 11th.

CT in August

Anna and I took a last minute trip to CT while Marty was in Chicago celebrating Rob's bachelor party weekend. We got a preview to the 2010 Bunnell Band's fall show starring Aunt Sydney and Uncle Harrison. On Friday we had dinner with the Battagliotti clan and even got to see Uncle Jon from CA. Thanks Uncle Joey and Auntie Anna for having all of us!! Saturday was a beautiful day so we hit the beach and even got a visit from Grammy. To breakup the ride home, Anna and I stopped at the Rain Forest Cafe. Anna enjoyed looking at the animals and didn't even mind the fake thunderstorm in the middle of lunch!

Grammy and Grampy Visit

Grammy and Grampy visited the last weekend in August for the Boston-Portsmouth Air Show. Anna and I had to stay home since she was under the weather but Marty, Grammy and Grampy enjoyed seeing the Blue Angels. Sunday after a good nap Marty, Anna and I watched some of the show from the mall parking lot. Although not the real thing Anna like finding the planes in the sky.

Bowling

Over Labor Day weekend we took Anna bowling for the first time. By bowling I mean candle pin with a ramp and bumpers. Jack, Luke and Ben joined us on the outing. Anna didn't get it at first but once she did she never wanted to stop. Dover bowl even had shoes in Anna size. She loved them so much she wanted to take them home with us. Anna might only be two but she LOVES shoes.

Apple Picking

Fall has begun in Maine so Anna and went apple picking this morning. There is a small orchard around the corner from us. They had slim pickings but we got enough to make our first apple pie of the season.

Summer Fun

I know it has been a while since my last post but we are enjoying sunshine. Anna LOVES the pool and is very good swimming with her noodle. This week we headed to the beach with the Vittorioso family crashing their stay in Seabrook Beach. We even snuck in a trip to York's Wild Animal Kingdom with the Dwelley family.

Swimming in the Mayo/Ledger pool.

Swimming at Milton Three Ponds with Auntie Sydney.

Checking out the beach. A few minutes later she was enjoying the surf and letting the waves pull her down, laughing.

Day one of three at the beach this week! Thanks for inviting us Laura!! Anna and Luke love the wagon ride to the beach.

Jack hanging with his favorite girl!

Feeding the deer at the zoo.
Anna loved the ducks and was quacking back at them.

We recently found a very nice park around the corner in Somersworth. Wednesday we took Marty for a little fun on the swings.

Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Ford

Marty was happy to serve as a groomsman for Jeff and Alisha almost five years to the day after Jeff was an usher in our wedding. The festivities started with a relaxing picnic on Wednesday. On Thursday Jack and Carol Ford hosted a wonderful rehearsal dinner at Saunders Restaurant. It was a beautiful night and the views of Rye Harbor were amazing. The wedding day on Friday was almost as hot as Jenny and Bryan's wedding a few weeks ago. The biggest difference was the church didn't have air conditioning. The reception was a great time with good food and tons of dancing. Thank you Jeff and Alisha for sharing your special weekend with us.

Happy Fourth of July

For the first time in many years we had a quiet Fourth of July weekend. Since Marty was on vacation for the last week we had plenty of time to relax and get some household chores done. We did manage to swim at pool a couple of times and enjoy a morning at Short Sands Beach in York. Although the ocean water was freezing the beach was very full. We arrived just after 9:30 a.m. to a full parking lot. Anna had fun playing in the sand and the water.

Mark, Natasha and Boys Visit

Following Jenny and Bryan's wedding Mark, Natasha, Jack, Charlie and Harry visited Maine. Since we were all tired from a long weekend we just hung out. Natasha and I enjoyed a little time shopping while Mark, Marty, Jack and Charlie headed to Boston to see a Red Sox game. Harry had lots of fun playing his new Harry Potter Wii game. Anna loved having her big cousins visit. She has asked for them everyday since they headed home.

Jenny and Bryan's Wedding

We spent a wonderful weekend in Connecticut celebrating the wedding of Jenny and Bryan. Friday Anna and I enjoyed a morning of swimming at the Marriott pool with Natasha and Harry while the rest of the boys golfed. Saturday began with the rehearsal at the church. To my surprise, Anna walked down the aisle with her cousins Caroline and Ryan. The day continued with a lobster bake on Fairfield Beach followed by drinks with family and friends at the hotel. Sunday was the big day. Jenny looked beautiful on her wedding day. With a little hesitation Anna made it down the aisle sprinting with her arms open wide toward Marty. The reception was a great time. We enjoyed wonderful food and catching up with everyone. Jenny and Bryan even led their guest in singing Happy Birthday to Grandma Bernasconi. Anna left early but her cousins enjoyed many hours of dancing! Thank you Jenny and Bryan for a wonderful weekend and many happy memories!

Boating

Today was a beautiful 90 degree summer day. Jeff and Alisha kindly invited us on their boat. Anna was unsure at first but after a little lunch she discovered how much fun boating is. Marty and I also lucked out when Anna fell asleep for an hour and a half. We enjoyed swimming and catching up with friends. Anna never complained once about her life jacket but didn't seem to like the water. Jeff even took us to a shallow area where she could touch and play but she decided it would be best to cling to Marty and me. Thank you Jeff and Alisha for a nice day!

Anna Swimming

Anna loves to go to the pool and is becoming a little fish. We finally went to the outdoor pool this week but have enjoyed the gym's indoor pool all spring. She swims with out our help using the noodle to get around.
