Christmas in July

It's July but we spent the day (our annivesary) listening to Christmas music as we visited Santa's summer home in New Hampshire. A highlight of the day was finding all 26 elves (one for each letter of the alphabet) as we walked the park. By far Anna's favorite part of the day was visiting the Ho Ho H2o water park. We also got to meet and feed Santa's reindeer but missed meeting the big guy since he was on his lunch break. To be honest we didn't go back to meet Santa since Anna was tired and cried at just the thought of seeing him.

Storyland Part 3

Marty is on leave this weekend so we headed to North Conway for a few days. A trip north would not be complete without stoppping at Storyland. It was a hot Sunday so Anna wore her bathing suit and enjoyed the water rides. Marty and I just got soaked. Anna's favorite part of the day was join the Story-Bops on Stage. She got to play a guitar in their band.

The Works

We spend most days at the pool. Anna has become a little fish but if you say this to her she says "I'm a mermaid."

Meeting Cinderella

Anna loves Storyland so much we have season passes. Marty took leave over the Fourth of July holiday so we headed north for the day. Finally Anna met Cinderella! Every place we have gone with characters dressed up she ran the opposite direction. Although Anna enjoys the rides her favorite part of the park is getting her face painted.

4th of July

The Fourth of July started off looking like rain and calling for thunderstorms. Thanks to Laura's encouragement we decided to give the beach a try. Fort Foster was lots of fun with lots for the kids to do and wasn't busy like any of the local beaches.
Driving the boat on the playground.
Exploring on of the old Coast Guard forts.
The view from the fort was beautiful. The water was very clear.
The kids spent hours having races in and out of the water.
All tired out.

Long Sands

We enjoyed our first trip to Long Sands in York Beach when my Mom and Sydney visited. Jack, Luke and Ben also joined us. The kids had lots of fun running in the waves. If you ask Anna what they did she replies "saved the seaweed" that washed up on the beach.

Crane's Beach

Way back on the last weekend of June we met the Gomez family at Crane's Beach for the day. Anna had lots of fun playing in the tidepools with Max and Elliot. It was even nicer for the parents who sat back and watched!

I'm on a Boat

The last few days have been very hot here in Maine. We have enjoyed many hours of swimming but the highlight was an evening on the Fords' boat. We swam, had a picnic dinner and spent a few hours playing with Matthew.

Strawberry Picking

We took advantage of an early strawberry picking day at Butternut Farm. Most of the kids were still in school so we had the whole place to ourselves. Anna had a blast with her friend Max running from row-to-row. She also enjoyed her first whoopy pie from Miss Megan.

Storyland

The second weekend of June we took Anna to Storyland. Like last year, the park was empty. After hesitating about the rides, Anna relaxed and had a blast. We were able to ride the roller coaster three times in a row not having to get off the ride. The highlight of the day for Anna was getting her face painted. Surprisingly Anna's choice was a princess.

Little Photographer

This is the pool where we will spend many, many hours this summer. Anna took the photo on Saturday. She is becoming a very good photographer.

New Castle Commons

Anna's end of the year field trip was to New Castle Commons. Anna loved playing in the water and was the only student to go all the way into the very cold water. She spent hours running around the playground and we were the last to leave.

School's out for the Summer!

Today was Anna's last day of school for the summer. She loved her teacher Miss Stacey and I think she is going to be sad next Tuesday when she doesn't have to go. We were very happy with Berwick Village Preschool and Anna will continue there in the fall.

Tinkerbell

Anna loves her new tinkerbell costume. On Monday she wouldn't take it off. After playing all afternoon with her friend Lucas she fell asleep on the couch about 5 p.m. still wearing it.

Birthday Princess

Anna celebrated her birthday with a few friends Saturday. She is very into princess and her favorite is Ariel so that was the theme. After we finished dinner Anna announced "no singing birthday song." After not allowing us to sing she cried when we lit her candles. Overall, after a month of waiting, Anna loved her birthday. Some updated stats on Anna:

57% for height at 40"

67% for weight at 37 lbs

Favorite color - pink

Favorite food - hot dog

Favorite fruit - raspberries

Favorite ice cream - purple (flavor doesn't matter)

Favorite song - Imma Be (also know in our house as Anna be)

Myrtle Beach

We had a wonderful trip to Myrtle Beach. We only told Anna we were taking a plane to the beach. She was surprised when we met Grammy and Grampy in the airport in North Carolina. That wasn't the only surprise. Mark, Natasha, Jack, Charlie and Harry were waiting for us at the hotel. Anna favorite part of vacation was the waterslide. She thought the beach was lots of fun too.

Spring 2012

I know its been a while but Anna is a busy girl!
