Sleepy Anna

Anna is so sleepy this afternoon but just won't nap. We decided to watch Cinderella and eat popcorn instead.

Christmas in CT

We travelled to Connecticut again this year for Christmas. Anna had so much fun playing with her cousins, aunts, uncles and all the dogs that we are still recuperating. Santa seemed to find Anna where ever she went. He even came personally to hand out gifts on Friday at Grammy and Grampy's house. Anna was scared at first but once she figured out that he had presents she changed her mind. Anna offered Santa hugs but wasn't ready to sit on his lap. Maybe next year.

Fun Hat

Anna spent all of Monday working on her fun hat. It even dispenses raisins like Curious George's. I had to draw the line at adding ice cream to the hat. It only took four tries and two rolls of tape to make.

Christmas Party

To end the weekend before Christmas we hosted a holiday party for our friends.

Polar Express

Hiding from Santa

Saturday Grammy and Grampy joined us for a ride on the Polar Express in Portland. We rode the train to the North Pole to pick up Santa. We enjoyed the book Polar Express while elves gave us hot chocolate and cookies. On the ride back to the station the conductor and Santa visited every child. Anna didn't cry when Santa greeted her but didn't seem to like him either. Anna favorite part was getting her bell to bring home.

BCM

Friday was Marty's birthday and also the day he came home from two weeks of training in Virginia. Anna was so excited to see him I had to find something to make the day pass faster. So we spent the afternoon at the Children's Museum in Boston. We almost had the entire place to ourselves. I think we played in every room and didn't have to wait or share a thing. The best part was when I told her it was time to head to the airport she ran to the door without putting up a fight about leaving.

Nancy and Chris' Wedding

Marty and I left Anna for the weekend to attend Nancy and Chris' wedding on the Cape. We had a blast. It may have been one of the most memorable wedding other than our own. It even included parading into the reception in "Team Sewell" tee shirts. I can't wait to see those photos. Who knows what the McGinnis and Sewell clans will come up with for the next wedding!!

Silly Anna

While Marty and I were on the Cape this weekend for Nancy and Chris' wedding, my Mom took some silly photos of Anna. She enjoyed hamming it up for the camera.

Berwick Christmas Parade

The Berwick Village Preschool won first place in the commercial category in the annual Berwick Christmas Parade. Unfortunately Marty and I missed the parade but my Mom and Rowdy took Anna. After the award ceremony Anna wanted to head home until she saw her teachers and classmates begin the parade. Originally Anna was to ride on the float but decided to walk the whole route. Anna enjoyed sampling the candy the bigger kids threw to the crowd and loved visiting the other floats.

Happy Christmas!

Decorating the Tree

I think Anna finally gets Christmas this year. Saturday we decorated our tree and the inside of the house. You will find most of our ornaments on the bottom half of the tree. Anna picked one spot in the tree as her favorite. Anna loves all the Christmas lights lit on our street. We took her out to see others but she does not like the flashing lights and tells us to keep going. I'm not sure if we will be visiting MacDonald Lane in Trumbull this year. Sorry Grammy and Grampy.

Santa's Coming to Town

On Nov. 19 Santa was delivered to the mall by horse drawn sleigh. Kids and parents lined the sidewalks as a reindeer led the way for Santa and his friends. Elfs handed out candy canes which Anna loved!

Halloween

Almost a month after Halloween and I am finally downloading the pictures from the camera. Anna LOVED giving out the candy on Halloween night. She got excited for each and every costume. Her favorites were the girls dressed like princesses just like her.

Trick or Treat

Eight inches of snow delayed Berwick's trick-or-treat night. For some reason I don't understand our town and neighboring towns celebrate Halloween the day before the holiday. When Anna awoke Sunday morning she was so happy to see the snow. We made our first snowman of the season.

Princess Ariel

Today Anna wore her Halloween costume to school. Although their walk to the mechanic shop was cancelled, she still had loads of fun. She loves her Ariel costume so much she has only taken it off to sleep and eat the last two days. During her nap I have hid it so it stays in one piece for Sunday's trick-or-treating. Wish me luck that Anna isn't too sad when she wakes up!

Emery Farm

Anna and I headed to Emery Farm this morning for our second field trip with her school. We enjoyed a spooky hay ride that Anna kept telling me "Anna scared" on our way to the pumpkin patch. After a snack and a game of tag the kids led the parent through the corn maze. Anna thought the corn maze was the same as Farmer Renkins' maze on Curios George. Anna got a pumpkin and also brought home lots of mud after her fall on the playground!

Touch-A-Truck 2011

The touch-a-truck event at Pease Airports is one of our favorite fall outings. This year Anna spent the time mostly looking from a distance. She did enjoy the moving truck and popping the bubble wrap. Her favorite was the "dancing truck" which she now knows sells ice cream. I'm hoping she forgets by spring when they start driving around our neighborhood again!

NIA

We took a quick trip to the park after our long car ride to CT. (This was a few weeks ago.) Anna spent a long time swinging with Daddy before she made the three of us lineup for the slide. We enjoyed the family outing and the wonderful weather!

Field Trip

Anna has loved her first few weeks of preschool. Marty and I are also happy with our choice to send her to Berwick Village. Everyday she is proud to show us what she made and tell us about her day. Today we had our first field trip to McDougal Farm. Anna was so excited because Miss Donna and our neighbor Sammi came in our car. After feeding the animals we even got to make our own fairy houses. The most interesting thing we learned was there are no ripe green apples. The granny smith's we see at the store are picked before they are ripe!

Sunday Sports with Daddy

Sunday was a big sports day here at the Sewells. With two Red Sox-Yankee games on and the Packer vs. Bears game televised, Anna had to change mid-day. She began the day sporting her Yankees dress and ended the day matching Daddy in her "Da Bears" tee. Thanks Aunt Jenny and Uncle Bryan!

Rochester Fair 2011

Its fall so we took our annual trip to the Rochester Fair. We saw the animals before heading to the rides. Once again the carousel was Anna's favorite ride. After enjoying some ice cream Anna discovered the games. We are how owners of a four feet tall blow-up microphone which Anna loves to sing into.

First Day of School

Anna started preschool today. She was very excited to wear her backpack and bring her bear to show her friends. Anna didn't mind me leaving only making me more sad that she is growing up so fast. She will be attending Berwick Village Preschool two days a week for three hours. I'm sure I will get use to the new schedule very quickly. I already enjoyed my solo trip to the grocery store.
