Christmas 2009

We hope everyone had a nice Christmas. We spent the holiday in Connecticut visiting family. We enjoyed a nice Christmas Eve with my family at Jerri and Jim's house followed by a yummy dinner at Grammy and Grampy's. On Christmas we bounced from house to house visiting all of Anna grandparents. Anna received many, many fun gifts this Christmas but preferred to play with all the old toys. She never grasped how to open the gifts and didn't want anything to do with Santa. We thank everyone for the wonderful gifts and the fun times we had on our visit.

Snow!!

On Sunday Marty took Anna out to play in the snow for the first time. Anna hated getting the snow suit on but seemed to enjoy the snow. She found it hard to walk in and when she fell she couldn't get back up.

Thanksgiving

Toasting Joey and Anna's engagement.

Anna and Louie

Enjoying her first football game.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving visiting family in Connecticut. We ate a yummy dinner with the Sewells then joined the Kessing/Battagliotti/Giordono families for dessert. Anna enjoyed the warm weather by playing football with her aunt and uncles. Friday afternoon we had a wonderful time catching up with my aunts, uncles and cousins at Nana's house. Thank you Joey and Anna for opening you new house to us. We really enjoyed our stay with you!

Trick or Treat

Here in Berwick, Maine we celebrate Halloween on October 30. I am not sure why and I don't know how I feel about it. Anna was joined by her friends Ella, Cyrus, Jack and Luke for trick or treating. She only lasted a few houses before she and Marty joined me at home to pass out candy. Baby Lucas came over to help us greet all the neighborhood kids. The only problem we had is that we ran out of candy by seven! We hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!

Early Halloween

Anna has been celebrating Halloween since Wednesday. She and her Sing and Sign class dressed up on Wednesday. Then she did a little trick or treating around The Works. Anna learned very quickly how to get a lollipop open. Last night all the Abode babies got together for the first time. Thank you Amanda for a wonderful party. Anna had a lot of fun meeting new friends.

1st Swim Lesson

Anna started her first swim lesson this weekend. Marty was a good sport and went into the pool with her. Anna had a lot of fun but when it came time to share the ducks she wanted no part in that. Now Marty has to learn the words to the kids songs so he can keep up in class next week.

CT Fun

We had a very busy trip to Connecticut last weekend. Friday started off with a visit to the pumpkin farm with my mom and ended with a fun 30th birthday celebration for Joey. Saturday Anna enjoyed her day with Grammy and Grampy and loved her first trip to the Beardsley Zoo. Marty and I had a lot of fun catching up with the UConn girls at Alicia and Mike's wedding on Saturday night. Before heading home to Maine we celebrated Harrison's confirmation with a brunch.

Lets Go Bears

Today is opening day of the 2009 football season. Marty and Anna are getting ready for tonight's game by wearing their Bears shirts. Thanks Aunt Jen for all my Chicago stuff!

Fruit Picking

We took advantage of a beautiful Sunday to go blueberry, apple and peach picking. Anna loved eating the fresh blueberries and even figured out how to eat a whole apple. Anna, Jack and Luke loved watching the chickens in their pen.

Finger Painting

Anna finger painted for the first time yesterday. We had lots of fun making her first artwork.

Cape Cod

We decided at the last minute to head to Cape Cod for the Labor Day weekend. Thank you Bernasconis for letting us invade your house for two fun days on the beach. It was nice to relax and catchup! Anna enjoyed playing in the water and the sand. Lucky for us Brewster in on the bay side and we didn't have an visits from the great white sharks swimming off the ocean coast.

Visit with the Hofmanns

We were lucky to meet up with Andy, Karen and Ryan on Sunday in North Conway. We had a nice lunch at the Scarecrow followed by playtime at Andy's grandparents house.

August

Taking care of baby Lucas.

Playing with Luke in the kitchen at the Children's Museum.

Swimming at the pool.

With Jack and Luke at the pool.

Seabrook Beach

The weather is starting to cool here in Maine so summer is coming to the close. We spent most of August at the pool. Anna really enjoys swimming and has become a fish! One Sunday while relaxing at the pool Anna decided it was time to start walking. There is no turning back now. In the two weeks she has gone from a drunken sailor to a pretty good walker. Tomorrow Anna turns 15 months old. I am not sure where the time goes.

Camp Overflow

We would like to thank Jeff, Alisha and the Ford family for hosting a fun weekend of camping at Camp Overflow in Otis, Mass. Anna proved to be a better camper than me. She loved sleeping in the tent and didn't even mind the hard ground. I on the other hand did not enjoy that part. We had a lot of fun boating, swimming and spending time with good friends. As long as we have an air mattress we look forward to next year!

Great-Grandma Bernasconi

We detoured on our way home from camping and stopped in Lee to visit Great-Grandma Bernasconi. We had a nice visit and hope to see her again in November.

Pat and Jenn's Wedding

Saturday we had the pleasure of attending Pat and Jenn's wedding. It was a beautiful day to spend on a lake here in Maine. Congrats Pat, Jenn, Jordan and Faith. Thank you for a wonderful day!

Sydney's Visit

Blueberry picking

Jack and Luke with girlfriend Sydney

We were very lucky to have Aunt Sydney visit last week. She spent loads of time trying to get Anna to either walk or say her name. Syd was not successful at either but Anna now lets us know when to "stop" and when she is "all done".

Jack, Charlie and Harry

We were very lucky to see Mark, Natasha, Jack, Charlie and Harry on their first trip to Grammy and Grampy's since moving back from Germany. I know Marty wished he could have seen them too. We look forward to seeing them again this fall.

Jones Farm

Today we visited Jones Farm with my Mom and Nana. Anna and I didn't get much picking done since Anna ate most of the blueberries. Blueberries are her favorite fruit so she would yell until we gave her another.

Beach's Pool

Anna has become our little fish. She loves to swim and play in the water. Today we spent the morning at Beach's Pool and Sprinkle Park in Trumbull.
